Past Presence, Inspiring Creativity
Natasha Lehrer, of Esther’s Place in Big Rock, IL will be taking the audience along a creative journey through the everyday extraordinary! In 2011, her piece, Past Presence was a part of Verona Tessile, an international fiber arts exhibit in Verona, Italy. The story of how she explored the country, people, culture, food and art, and the impact it made on her artistic outlook will be told. It was through this opportunity she absorbed a great deal of inspiration on how to look into our surroundings with a discerning eye. Learn how to see deeper into the layers that exist around us, how to let everyday wonders amaze you, and ways it can influence and effect your fiber art. You will enjoy the burst of colorful creativity this can bring into your work as she shares about Italy, sheep, art, food and philosophy!

Flock to Esther’s Place for a weekend of family fun and fiber! Sit down to make a felted pin, enjoy refreshments, tour the shop, visit our farm, purchase heirloom seedlings and garden products, shop at our new artisan marketplace featuring regional artists’ work, a willow furniture workshop opportunity, and a chance to get out into the country for a day of relaxing in the beauty and serenity it offers. This annual event highlights the flock at our farm, with opportunity for you to come see the lambs and take pictures. All tours will start at Esther’s Place, so plan to come, shop, linger, and be inspired, and invite your friends, family and neighbors!
