Fiber-arts educator Natasha Lehrer Lewis has carved out a paradise in Big Rock, IL. One of her missions is to keep alive the traditional techniques and skills of generations past: spinning, dyeing, felting, knitting, crocheting, weaving, and more. Not only does she teach these in her fiber-arts studio, Esther’s Place, but also, with assistance from her family, she runs an organic working farm, raises sheep, spins their wool, operates a bed & breakfast, lectures, mentors, practices her art, and finds time to make tea for those who come into her shop. Natasha will bring beautiful visuals, demonstrations of spinning/felting, and inspiration. This creative entrepreneur – and time-management marvel – will also show us some sweet crafts we can make on another visit.
